I'm finally back from the NCO course!! Wahahas.. I can't believe that i actually went through the whole course. Initially i was really damn sian when i heard got course to attend again, but i really enjoyed this LMSC this time round. Although day 1 there were full of complains and less interaction, but things became better the 2nd day. Our squads were much more bonded and we could just joke ard as though we'hv known each other for ages. Hees. Okie, shall start my entry....
Day 1
Had to wake up damn bloody early, even earlier than waking up to prepare for school. Brough lotsa stuffs, overloaded me. Reached CHS slightly late. Started the day with lectures, zZz. Yeah, i nearly fell asleep in the theatre, but the 2 sirs who were presenting their lectures were so humorous that i was laughing my head off most of the times, and so i managed to stay awake. Unfortunately, i was so suay, the sir ti-kam one name and i tio. I was asked to demonstrate the saluting etc. OMG. So damn malu, i saluted w/o the beret on. lols, was too nervous that i had forgotten everything.
Following were footdrills, lunch-- oh man, the food... +o( After lunch, we had team building games, lectures and ended the day.
Day 2
The enthusiasm i had in this course grew day by day. Was starting to get pretty involved in activities. Can't really recall what we did, but rmb that there were rifle drills, lectures, campcraft lessons, and pioneering. What had made my day was the pioneering competition. So fun! Initially i was worried that squad 5 wouldnt be able to come up with any gadgets, but i was wrong. Together we unite our forces, and came up with a... Eh, helicopter gadget? lol. Quite alot of uses. Oh yah, had the chance to be an IC too. Fun, but obviously being the in-charge, the responsibilty will be heavier too. At the end of the day, we were given a topic to work on for the SITS presentation. It is some kind of scenerio that we will often witness in school. Together we brainstormed and soon ideas started to flow in..
Day 3
Had my baton drills, MOI, lectures, test, SIT presentation, graduating ceremony. I must admit, being a NCO is very different from being a cadet. Tsk. But you gain some and lose some. Although we have greater responsibilities, but we are the seniors now. Hehe, makes u feel like your standing at the top , with the rest of your cadets at the bottom. Gao Gao Zai Shang. But rest assure lah CIs, NCOs, i will not abuse my authority :)
Studied for the test, and luckily, it was ok. Presented the topic, and hmm, our squad didnt do as well as i expected. But at least we came in 2nd leh. HEhe. Lost to the 1st by 1 mark!! Argh~ Pioneering also~! But as long as we put in our effort, it's all worthwhile. In my eyes, we're the 1st and Squad 5 roxs! Graduating Ceremony was kidna touching, made me feel reluctant to leave my squad. Sad. But i'll get to see them during ATC again. =)
Before i end my entry for the day, i have some motivational phrases for you people. I contributed one, and another RI guy contributed another one. They are...
*Confidence contributes to conversation more than wit.
*If you wish to see the rainbow, you must first endure the rain.
Meaningful and motivative right.. Learn them by your heart and tell these 2 phrases to yourself whenever you lack of confidence or feel like giving up. LAstly, wanna drop some info too.
Squad 5's Squad Name: Breadtalk. (haha, sounds weird right? but the CIs wanted names of j8 food outlets, so we chose this lor)
Best female trainee for Breadtalk: Amanda--Bwlss
Best male trainee for Breadtalk: Aaron-- RI
Btw, gy npcc has 2 best female trainees too! Cheers! They are: Alicia, Sin Yee. Good work, you did us proud! N yupp, good news for all Gy cadets, we all passed our LMSC test! Hooray! Now let's just hope Mr Anba rmb his promise and give us the sergant rank soon..
